Chris Carr

Owner and President of McLaughlin Construction

Chris earned a degree in accounting from Rutgers University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. His professional career began in the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan offices of Arthur Andresen LLP, which has since been acquired by KPMG LLP. In his role as a Senior Manager he specialized in financial services and real estate, laying the groundwork for his eventual move into the construction industry.

After his time at KPMG LLP, Chris became the Chief Accounting Officer for Alesco Financial, a structured finance REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust).  In his role, Chris was instrumental in taking the company public and navigating the financial intricacies of a NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) publicly traded company. 

Next, Chris moved to LCOR, Inc., a real estate development company specializing in the construction and management of luxury apartment complexes in New York City, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. In his role as Vice President of Accounting & Finance, Chris oversaw all finance and accounting responsibilities including budgeting, risk management, investor relations and banking negotiations.

Upon the sudden passing of his father-in-law, Jim McLaughlin, in 2014, Chris and his wife Kristy decided to move to Sea Isle City to oversee McLaughlin Construction. Chris' professional service background and knowledge of the real estate industry allowed him to confidently helm McLaughlin Construction and establish an exceptional team of construction and project management professionals.

Chris quickly developed a passion for providing clients with the ultimate coastal living experiences, constructing one of a kind homes built for generations of memories and happiness at the beach. Under Chris' leadership, McLaughlin Construction has grown into one of the largest custom home building operations in Cape May County. 

Chris, Kristy and their two boys, Michael and James, live in Sea Isle City and spend the majority of their free time together surfing, enjoying bay activities, and hanging with friends and family.
